Worst birtthday ever

I have just had the worst birthday of my entire life. I did not get a cake under the excuse that I did not ask for one. Are you serious since when is it the norm to ask for a birthday cake. Isn't it how it is supposed to be. It would be like asking your bride if she wants a wedding ring. Another thing is that I received 15 dollars from my mom as a birthday present. I surely asked for money when she asked me what I wanted for gift, however I did not expect 15 dollars. I know that times are difficult for her and all, and I would have prefered not to get any money at all rather than getting 15 dollars. Is like the difference between loosing in a soccer game 15 to 1 and loosing the same match 15-0. Loosing to 0 is better in a way and less shamefull.
